“This is a landmark moment for Deportes Telemundo as we prepare to launch what will be our home for years to come,” said Jorge Hidalgo, Executive Vice President of Telemundo. “We've designed and built a spectacular looking set that is modern, versatile and smart. Some of our investments in technology and lighting will actually help us reduce our energy consumption, while keeping Deportes Telemundo at the forefront of innovation on Spanish-language sports television.”
Deportes Telemundo’s new studio will feature new lighting and design technology that will allow viewers to immerse themselves in the broadcast like never before, featuring devices that enhance the viewing experience such as a fully customizable 30–foot video wall that adapts to each and every show by becoming a virtual backdrop and centerpiece for “Futbol Estelar”. Other highlighted features of the studio include Deportes Telemundo’s “En Detalle,” supported by an interactive touchscreen that allows the experts to analyze the tactics employed on the pitch and dissect different plays. “En Detalle” will also feature offside graphics as well as ball trajectory and speed tracking to cover every facet of “the beautiful game.”
Deportes Telemundo is taking steps to become “more green” by employing the latest LED lighting technology throughout the set. The new lighting grid includes almost 300 fixtures that can be completely customized for each area of the studio, spending 75 percent less power used per kilowatt, resulting in a longer lifespan that benefits the environment.
The new studios will also maximize the integration of sponsors and product placement via a 12x12 projection screen, LCD monitor desks and physical branding designed into the set .
