Telemundo Network's newest affiliate, KTAS-TV, Channel 33 in Santa Barbara, will begin broadcasting April 1, 2001, announced Ann Gaulke, Vice President of Affiliate Relations for Telemundo.
Telemundo previously served the area through Cox Communications in Santa Barbara, and low-power stations in Santa Maria and San Luis Obispo. The Spanish language network features a wide range of programming, including popular novelas, talk shows, original sitcoms, sports and news, children's programming, blockbuster movies, reality, entertainment and music programs.
"KTAS-TV is a strategic and significant addition to the growing Telemundo affiliate base," said Gaulke. "We are delighted that the management of the station has recognized the broad appeal of our programming and the value we bring to its viewers, and we look forward to continuing our partnership with the station."
