Hispanic Television Network, Inc. announced that it has hired Frederico E. Martinez as an Executive Vice President to aid the company in affiliate distribution expansion and program funding.
Martinez built San Diego Spanish-language channel KDI 17, an independent broadcaster that was sold to Entravision.
"I could not be more excited about Federico joining our team," said HTVN COO Michael Fletcher. "His demonstrated leadership and experience as a broadcaster will assist HTVN in expanding our affiliate base, revenues, and increasing shareholder value."
In addition to broadcast experience, Martinez spent 9 years with the US Department of Commerce and was responsible for increasing tourism in the United States from Mexico. The position allowed him to develop several strategic government and private relationships that will benefit HTVN in distribution, funding, and programming. Martinez earned a degree in Mass Media Communications and Political Science from Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico in 1973.
